About the COVID-19 Bus Response Project

The COVID-19 Bus Response Project is focused on providing internet to school students through internet-enabled school buses. Various school districts and educational agencies have equipped school buses with internet, providing students with a way to download, upload, and research school assignments or homework. The project is powered by WiFiRanger routers and various LTE data plans or WiFi hotspots. The WiFiRanger routers are purpose-built for this application, and are installed on the school buses listed on project map. The school buses provide free internet which can be used by students.

The goal of this project is to work in conjunction with school organizations to quickly deploy and provide internet solutions to counteract the connectivity difficulties faced by many students during this pandemic. The hope is to inspire students and educators by sustaining a learning environment despite the challenges posed by COVID-19.
